The District Development Fund (DDF) has provided funding to support basic infrastructure development in Oudomxay Province, Lao PDR, according to the Deputy Chief of Xay district, Mr Sivankham Inthaboupha.
Reporting to the visiting Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Mr Khammoun Viphongxai, the Deputy Chief said that the support, worth 300 million kip (over US$37,000), provided by the DDF has gone for education, agriculture-forestry, public works and transport, and health in the district.
The DDF funded projects include the construction of a school in Huayhom village, and water supply, irrigation, and road and bridge construct ion in Huayta village.
The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Mr Khammoun Viphongxai, visited Oudomxay Province last week. He urged the developers to focus on the implementation of the development projects to make sure they are completed on time and bring benefits to local residents.
