In this video, Thinley Wangchuk, District Assitant Engineer explains how he build a climate resilient bridge and the benefits of this for the local school children and communities in Phobjica valley, Wangdhue District, Bhutan.

The LoCAL Programme aims to promote climate change resilient communities by increasing financing for and investment in Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) at the local level in least developed countries, thereby contributing to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), particularly the specific goals of poverty reduction (MDG1) and environmental sustainability (MDG7). It does this by reinforcing local government financial delivery systems, with Performance Based Climate Resilient Grants.
