Climate change nowadays is not just a buzzword anymore; it is having real observable effects on the environment and people’s life: rising sea level, extreme weather, degraded land, etc. With this ongoing trend, what is the future of the Earth? How can we slow down the damage to our planet, especially what can local government do to cope with this challenge while not stagnating local economic development?

This episode features Luc Gnacadja, former Executive Secretary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification and Special Representative of the LoCAL Board. He will share his knowledge and insights on climate change and local governance.

In the second part of this episode, Armel Djengue, Programme Officer in Benin, will share his stories and perspectives in the development field.
