Local Econocast: Episode 4
Cross-border Collaboration and Local Development
Cross-border collaboration makes economic development benefits more tangible and more accessible for people living in the region. The Greater Mekong Subregion is a great example. The economic corridor not only mitigates the physical barriers that impede subregional socio-economic development, but also provides a diverse investment and production platform for regional and global markets. How can they think beyond borders and turn barriers into opportunities? What is local government’s role in this?
This episode features His Excellency Sak Setha, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the National Committee for Sub-National Democratic Development Secretariat of Cambodia. He will share Cambodia’s experience in cross-border collaboration.
In the second part of this episode, Anka Kitunzi, the UNCDF Technical Advisor managing country programmes in Somalia, will share his stories and perspectives in the development field.
