You may not think about 2007 like a turning point in your life but if we say that M-Pesa, the largest mobile money network in the world, and the first iPhone were launched…You may realize that a phone in your hand hasn’t meant the same thing over the years. And there’s no reason to exclude that 10 years from now, you’ll be using your phone differently.
In the last decade, the fast pace of innovation has urged regulators and policymakers to quickly adapt to a new and evolving reality, and raised questions around their role in the future. We can’t predict the future of policy and regulation, but we can describe what we want to see. This is what our Ecosystem Specialist Ahmed Dermish did at the Mobile 360 GSMA conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in July 2017.
