In Kibaha,Tanzania, The UN Capital Development Fund worked with Kibaha Town Council by providing seed capital investment and technical assistance for the development and construction of a new bus terminal. Over 14,000 passengers now use this bus terminal everyday. This has triggered new demand for goods and services, attracted new businesses and provided new jobs for Kibaha residents. Connecting the Kibaha local government to a new revenue source has improved the service delivery to their people and catalysed local economic development, proving how a limited investment in local development setting can unlock additional capital from the public sector and accelerate the implementation and localisation of the Sustainable Developmental Goals in Tanzania.
