The 1997 Results-Oriented Annual Report assesses the performance of the organization in terms of the achievement of annual targets in its areas of intervention: Local Development Funds, Eco-development and Microfinance.

The report also describes UNCDF projects, and how these are largely directed by its focus on reducing poverty through approaches that promote good local governance, a dynamic private sector and the participation of civil society in development initiatives.
