The AHEPO project is located at Lifakara Village in Mbangamao waterfalls along Mtandasi river in Mbinga district, Ruvuma region, South West Tanzania.

The UNCDF involvement started during Phase II of the expansion of the project with the aim of
adding new structures and machinery to attain the full generation capacity of l.OKW.

• Technical Assistance - undertook full due-diligence, structured the investments, assessed the development impact and the financial impact additionality and sustainability (Dual Key), unlocked additional financial flows to the investment, supported the investments in the implementation phases, advised on performance and impact measurement and reporting
• Catalytic Seed Capital - seed capital investment of 150,000 USD (reimbursable grant)
