The CAS Summit (Jan 2021) garnered support for an extremely ambitious set of actions on locally led climate change adaptation. To that end, the commission has developed a series of principles for locally led action, and will use the anchor event to highlight new and ambitious commitments to scale up support for locally led action in line with those principles through a 10 year journey on locally led adaptation, and show broad scale institutional and individual support for the principles for locally led adaptation Action.
At the Climate Adaptation Summit, UNCDF introduced the LoCAL program and reaffirmed its commitment to scale up adaptation funding to 100 million for direct access to local governments.
