Since 2010, The Government of Lichtenstein granted UNCDF $245000 for development investment in Sierra Leone. UNCDF sought to invest these funds via MiTAF Phase II (The Microfinance Investment and Technical Assistance Facility), a multi-donor facility established in mid-2009, which sought to develop a national competitive, sustainable and inclusive financial sector that provides access to financial services to low income people.
MiTAF’s sponsors (KfW, UNCDF1 , UNDP and CORDAID) proposed to work in partnership with the Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL) and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MoFED).
