In Acknowledgment of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence:
Impact Capital to Counter Gender Based Violence
Tags
Every year since 1991, the United Nations in general, and UN Women in particular, have acknowledged the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Commenced on November 25th (the International Day for Violence Against Women) through December 10th (Human Rights Day), the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is intended to combat the global scourge of violence against women.
As the UN’s flagship catalytic finance entity for the world’s 46 least developed countries, UNCDF places women’s economic empowerment as one of its priority areas of programmatic focus. As stated in UNCDF’s Strategic Framework, investing in gender equality and women’s economic empowerment is a precondition for sustainable results. This includes achieving the result of the reduction, the prevention and the end of violence against women and girls.
In acknowledgment of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, UNCDF is offering a suite of content that displays how UNCDF works to combat gender based violence through its work to advance Women’s Economic Empowerment.
