The EU and UNCDF are natural partners, sharing the same values and objectives. These include equal access to development opportunities for all, and fight against poverty around the world. A guiding principle of our partnership is the joint effort to help countries achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
The EU is currently supporting UNCDF in its programmes and activities in Bangladesh, Lesotho, Niger, and Somalia. Along with other partners, the EU was instrumental in designing UNCDF/UNDP Pacific Financial Inclusion Programme (PFIP) and participates to its financing since inception, through the ACP/EU MICROFINANCE programme.
The EU-UNCDF cooperation takes place at the policy, advocacy, knowledge sharing and programmatic levels, each complementing one another.
