UNCDF Announces Plans for
Extensive Microfinance Training in 2004
Building Financial Systems for the Poor: How Donors Can Make a Difference
CGAP & UNCDF Microfinance Donor Training
UNCDF, in collaboration with CGAP, a consortium of 28 bilateral and multilateral donor agencies that support microfinance, are organizing a series of five-day training workshops throughout 2004 that translate this vision into concrete actions for donor staff. The workshops are designed for CGAP member donors, UN agency staff, other donors, socially responsible investors and policy makers. More than 180 staff of more than 20 agencies have attended previous courses, which have been held in a wide range of countries including Bangladesh, Bolivia, Egypt, Mongolia, Cambodia, Uganda, Senega, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Kenya.
The following courses are planned for 2004:
- June 2004: Antigua, Guatemala
- 27 - 30 April 2004: Italy – with a focus on rural finance
- 27 September - 1 October 2004: Indonesia
- 22 November - 2 December 2004: Senegal
