Economically isolated for decades, Myanmar has only recently opened up to the global community. With this came a lot of discussion about this South East Asian country being the 'last frontier' of financial inclusion. Microfinance legislation was passed in late 2011, but what has happened since? And what does the future look like?
As part of Financial Inclusion Week 2017, UNCDF and VisionFund Myanmar are partnering to host an online discussion about how the microfinance sector needs to move forward in order to continue serving the 70 per cent of the adult population in Myanmar that is financially excluded.
Join us on to hear from Paul Luchtenburg, Country Coordinator in Myanmar for the UNCDF, and Rommel Caringal, CEO of VisionFund Myanmar.

From October 30 - November 3, 2017, stakeholders will explore how new products and partnerships are empowering customers. Financial Inclusion Week is an initiative of the Center for Financial Inclusion and aims to strengthen the diverse community of players involved in building a more inclusive financial ecosystem.
