
Mohammad Abbadi is the Structuring and Financial Instruments Advisor at the United Nations Capital Development Fund. A Jordanian national, he brings over 20 years of technical, managerial, and leadership experience in development finance and innovative financing solutions. Mohammad holds a master’s degree in public administration and finance from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs in the United States.
In his role, Mohammad provides oversight for the deployment of financial instruments used by UNCDF’s Investment and Implementation Division. He ensures quality, consistency, and adherence to development finance principles, including minimum concessionality, additionality, financial sustainability, and limited market distortion. Working under the oversight of the Chief Financial Officer, Mohammad advises transaction teams led by Regional Investment Team Leads and participates in corporate Investment Committees, offering expert recommendations and approvals.
Mohammad plays a pivotal role in strengthening UNCDF’s capabilities and offerings for public and private sector stakeholders, domestic and international capital providers. His expertise spans designing and implementing innovative financing mechanisms, mobilizing capital, managing investment pipelines, and ensuring quality assurance and compliance.
