
Mattias Granqvist, Swedish national, is a financial Structuring and Guarantee Advisor for the United Nations Capital Development Fund. A Swedish national, his work ensures that UNCDF’s investment structures adhere to the principles and best practices of development finance. This includes ensuring additionality, risk assessments, public and private finance mobilization, financial sustainability and minimizing market distortion, in addition to providing expert advice to the organization’s investment committees.
Prior to joining UNCDF in 2021, Mattias worked for the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) as a senior transaction manager and risk specialist in the Guarantees and Catalytic Financing for Development Unit. Previously he also worked at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority as a financial regulator servicing capital market instrument, financial risks, and regulated financial institutions. Mattias also have significant experience in corporate finance and asset management from the private sector.
Mattias holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in finance from the Stockholm Business School, and a Master’s degree in Political Economy from Stockholm University.
